Q:How to manually select the device driver used by the Evaluation software?
A:Most of the evaluation board software comes along with a device driver which is distinct to each product or family of products. Normally, these device drivers are automatically loaded by the kernel when it detects the evaluation board. It then identifies the name of the evaluation board and that information is used by the evaluation software. However, there are situations that these device drivers are not loaded. Thus, this leaves the evaluation board undetected by the evaluation software even if it is attached to the USB port and powered up properly.
To manually select the device driver, go to My Computer > Properties > Device Manager
You will see a list of devices in this category. Just search for the device that you are using ( e.g. Analog Devices Evaluation Board) . Right Click > Update Driver
A wizard pops out and choose the (Advanced) > Don’t search. I’ll choose the driver to install
This dialogue will appear. Notice that there is this single entry of Analog Devices Evaluation Board. This entry would be different when you use another evaluation board or if you would have conflicting entries then more than one entry would appear in the box. From here, just choose the proper device drive you intend to use. This method was done in Windows XP however this would also hold true in Windows 7.
