EVAL-ADM1001 driving capability

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: EVAL-ADMX1001

Where can I find a datasheet of ADMX1001?
The information I could find comes from https://wiki.analog.com/resources/eval/user-guides/admx/admx100x however I still need some more important information, for example:

  • What is the driving capability of this device? Can it support switched capacitor loads? The idea is to use this to drive an ADC in a test setup
  • The DAC THD is reported, but I could not find information regarding its SNR
  • What is the input impedance of the signal acquisition path?

Thank you

Thread Notes

  • Hi  ,

There will be no datasheet for ADMX1001, the typical performance available is posted on the wikisite userguide that you showed above.

The differential output came from ADA4945 so it should be able to drive the the ADC easily.

I've seen around typical 106dB SNR with 2Vrms , 22kHz bandwidth on my measurements.

Here is the input impedance of the acquisition path:

Input resistance (Common mode and differential) = 5 Teraohms

        Input capacitance = 15 pF

  • Hi Emman,

    Thank you for your reply.

I have had a look at the datasheet of the ADA4945, as our goal is to drive different ADCs, ranging from delta sigma targeting SNDR around 100dB at audio bandwidth, to oversampled SAR ADCs with lower SNDRs (around 80dB) but sampling frequencies up to 300MHz and input tones up to 10MHz.

While the large signal bandwidth is reported to be up to 60MHz, it is also reported a settling time, e.g. 35ns to 0.1% for a 8V step. What is the difference between the two? Is my understanding correct that the large signal bandwidth here refers to the input frequency which can be tracked by this driver in absence of switching loads at its output, while the settling time refers to the time required by the driver to establish the correct input replica onto a switched load cap (i.e. driven ADC input)?

Is it possible also to know which devices the AFE and ADC in the signal acquisition are?
The userguide provides DR and THD for a specific input frequency, but I need to know what is the bandwidth, SNDR of this acquisition chain, and under which conditions.

    Thank you for following up

    Best regards
