AD9913 MASTER_RESET mandatory?

Hi,

we want to use 3 pieces of AD9913 on our application and keep the board complexity low.

Is it mandatory to issue a device reset via the MASTER_RESET pin or can the pin simply be grounded?

Thanks, Tom

    Hi Tom,

I would recommend to issue a device reset via the MASTER_RESET pin to clear all memory elements and reprogram registers to their default values. This ensures that the parts are placed in a known state before they are programmed. The part does not have a power-on reset unlike the AD9912 that has power-on reset wherein on initial power-up, a reset pulse is internally generated.

    Best regards,
