Hey everyone,
For some reason my AD9851 DDS chip keeps dying after I test it (it gives no more output sine wave and becomes quite warm). It was capable of producing a very nice 50MHz sine wave for example and after powering it up a second time it is unresponsive. I was wondering what the best course of action is now. Could it be some sort of power spike that is fatal for the chip? I use quite some bypass caps (perhaps you can see the layout schematic below).
I am using a 5V USB supply for a laptop or PC that is boosted to 6V by a boost converter and then is stepped down by 5V LDOs.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! Already burned through 2 chips
I realize that it could be many things on my PCB, but I don't really know where to start.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers.
