AD5930 Application

I have a unique application in which I would like to use the AD5930.  I would like to create a square wave output starting at 1Hz and increasing in 10Hz increments up to 533Hz.  I have the evaluation board AD5930EB.  I am not able to get a square wave out on the MSB OUT.  I am using the USB and provided software to control the evaluation board.  Does anyone have experience with this board that might be able to help me?  I am very new to this, so please excuse my ignorance.  Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Have you worked through the technical note that accompanies the CD (Please find attached). Make sure all the Links are in the correct location.  When you follow the user interface are you pulsing the  CTRL pin in the final window - see Figure 6 in attached.

  • Hi Liam,

Thanks for the reply.  I finally got things working.  It turned out to be an

error in the evaluation board instructions.  The LK3 jumper position which

specifies where the clock is sourced (either from onboard 50Mhz oscillator

or an off board source) was wrong.  The default setting was for the onboard

oscillator.  I thought it was strange when I was first checking the board

that all the jumpers were in the default position except LK3.  So I changed

the LK3 so it was in the default position (according to the instructions).

I finally thought to try to set the LK3 jumper back to what it was when I

received the board, and now I'm in business!  Thanks again!
