AD9106 - Thermal drift

Hello,

The thermal drift for the AD9102/6 is given p6 of the datasheet (Table 2)

DAC TEMPERATURE DRIFT

Gain ±228 ppm/°C

Reference Voltage ±131 ppm/°C

I use an external reference voltage, the drift of the reference is thus (far) lower but what about the gain drift ?

Is it better with an external reference ?

Best regards,

Marc

  • Hello Marc,

The gain drift spec doesn't include reference drift. Thus even with a perfect external reference, you still get +/-228ppm/C gain drift. In practice, the output full-scale drift is the combination of both reference drift and gain drift, and using a precision external reference would reduce the reference part of the drift.
