AD5282- Supply current vs Vlogic

Question

Inquiry Description:Hi,I'm trying to dimension the power supply circuits needed to power a few AD5282digipots.In table 1 of the datasheet is stated that the maximum logic supply current(Ilogic) is 60uA and the negative and positive supply currents are 1uA. Butwhat confuses me is the figures 16, 18 and 26 which show very different values.Could you please help me out with understanding this?

Answer

Please find that the values in the specifications table are based on theelectrical characteristics mentioned.
When you observe the figures 16 and 17, the supply currents are in the rangei.e. positive and negative supplies are less than 1uA and the logic supplycurrent is less than 60uA (maximum spec).
The specifications table is based on the following electrical specifications,


But when you consider the figures 18 and 26, these have different electricalspecifications (V_DD / V_SS = 5V / 0V).


This is the reason for you to observe different values in the figures.
Regarding the Figure 26, the plot does not seem to be appropriate. Unfortunately as the tests were done quite a while ago we do not have propersupporting data for the figure.I would recommend you to follow the 60uA supply current for Vlogic. We hope to resolve this and update it in the next revision.
