There is continuous temperature conversion inside MAX31855. Therefore, external switching may not be synchronized with temperature conversion. To obtain accurate temperature measurement results, it will take at least two measurement cycles after switching. Therefore, it is not recommended to use external switches with MAX31855. In addition, there is no linearization in MAX31855. MAX31856 is recommended instead. Single "1-shot" conversion can be adopted using MAX31856 with the external switch to achieve multi-channel temperature conversion.
