Design Inquiry

Thread Summary

The user inquired about the AD3552R DAC IC, specifically if it supports frame or clock sync from an FPGA and the necessity of using two different amplifiers at the output. The /LDAC pin can be used for synchronization, but it only updates the DAC register. Using a single amplifier for both output channels is acceptable, depending on the application requirements. The user also asked about similar 8 or 4-channel, 16-bit, 33MSPS SPI or LVDS DACs, but no specific models were provided in the response.

Dear Team,

I am developing an Analog Card which contains DAC IC AD3552R.

Please address my few design queries on the DAC AD3552R.

1.Does the DAC IC have frame sync or clock sync input option from FPGA to synchronize all the clock circuitry in the board. If supported, which pin should be used.

The sync pin or signal is that the FPGA synchronizes all the DACs and ADC in the board. It is the output coming from the FPGA and connected to DACs IC so that FPGA has a control to sync all the ADCs and DAC.

This image is a reference image .

2.In the IC datasheet, two different amplifiers are used in the DAC output. Why there is a need of two different amplifiers at the output of the DAC output channels. Can I use any one amplifier for the both the output channels? If okay which amplifier, should choose from the two mentioned in the datasheet.

Regards,

Abhishek
