Questions about Figure 27 in the datasheet

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: AD5602

Hello,
This is Kwonjoon Lee from South Korea.

I would like to ask about Figure 27 of the datasheet of AD5602.

(Detailed Questions about Figure 27)

1. I would like to ask if the ΔVo(V) in the y-axis means (actual output voltage - intended output voltage).

2. I would like to ask if a positive value of the I(mA) in the x-axis means the current flowing into the DAC output (from the Load).

3. I would like to ask if a negative value of the I(mA) in the x-axis means the current flowing into the Load (from the DAC output).

4. I would like to ask if "DAC LOADED WITH ZERO-SCALE CODE" means the graph in the right half plane.

5. I would like to ask if "DAC LOADED WITH FULL-SCALE CODE" means the graph in the left half plane.

Best regards,
Kwonjoon Lee

  • Hi  ,

    Apologies for the delayed response.

    1.  I would like to ask if the ΔVo(V) in the y-axis means (actual output voltage - intended output voltage).
      • This is the difference between the ideal output and the measured output.
    2. I would like to ask if a positive value of the I(mA) in the x-axis means the current flowing into the DAC output (from the Load).
    3. I would like to ask if a negative value of the I(mA) in the x-axis means the current flowing into the Load (from the DAC output).
      • When the output is set to Full-scale (0 to -10mA of the x-axis), the expected output should be let’s say Vo = 5V. This is true when the current on the pin is 0mA. However, when sourcing current of 10mA (-10mA), the output drops to around Vo = 4.6V (around -0.4V).
      • When the output is set to Zero-scale (0 to 10mA of the x-axis), the expected output should be Vo = 0V. This is true when the current on the pin is 0mA. However, when sinking current of 10mA, the output increases to around Vo = 0.6V.
    4.  and 5. are also explained in 2. and 3.
