Is it possible to scale the output up to 8 V with the internal driver and a single-ended, 10 V power supply?

Category: Hardware
Product Number: AD558

The AD558 datasheet describes a couple operating mode for output scaling that provide either 10V full scale, or 2.56 V full scale. The former is not available with VCC lower than 11.4 V (presumably because the output opamp is not rail-to-rail?). Is there a configuration that would increase the full-scale output above 2.56, but lower than the opamp saturation limit? For example, it appears that tieing Vout Select and Vout Sense together and then connecting them to Vout through a 26.3 kOhm resistor would imply an opamp gain of 19.3 for the output stage and a resulting full scale voltage of 8.0 V. Building this in a prototype circuit board results in a much higher gain and saturated opamp behavior.
