Can the current output of the LTC2662 be used as a current source to drive a Triac?
Hi interrupt598 ,
The DAC should be able to trigger a TRIAC on state and then turn off by activating the pull-down switch. Just wondering what would be the application where that kind of solution is desired. Typically a push pull output buffer, such as a MOSFET gate driver would work well. What is the intended purpose of the DAC?
Cheers, heke
Hello Heke,
Thank you for the prompt reply. I selected the LTC2662 because I wanted as much functionality as I could get on a single PCB and since Triacs are current driven I thought it would work in that capacity as well as take care of many other monitor and control functions. Is that a legitimate application for that part or should I move to something else?
