Accessing software programmable control register of AD5620/AD5640/AD5660

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: AD5640

The datasheet of AD5620/AD5640/AD5660 (  https://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/data-sheets/AD5620_5640_5660.pdf ) , specifically on page 19, outlines the presence of a control register that can undergo software programming to modify operational modes. However, crucial details regarding the register's address are omitted. How can one access this control register? What is the precise value of its register address? i.e How to configure this control register - what is the register address ?

Thanks,

Riya

  • Hi  ,

Apologies for the late reply. The control bits are part of the 16-bit data word sent to the DAC via the serial interface. The datasheet does not explicitly state a separate address for the control register because it is integrated within the data input stream. So, in essence, you’re accessing and controlling the DAC through the input shift register, and the control bits are part of the data you send to this register.
