AD5675R internal regulator

Category: Hardware
Product Number: AD5675R

Hi,

I am trying to understand the output of this DAC when the output buffers are in gain 2.

As the Vref is 2.5V this would give 2xVref on the output which is 5V. Is this 5V generated internally?

If i power the part from VDD of 3.3V the output will still be 0->5V and not 0->Vdd(+3.3V)?

Thanks

  • Hi  ,

Is the 5V output generated internally? Yes, the output is generated internally.

Will the output still be 0->5V and not 0->Vdd(+3.3V) if the part is powered from a VDD of 3.3V? No, the output will be clipped to 3.3V, as the datasheet states: "The output buffer amplifier generates rail-to-rail voltages on its output, which gives an output range of 0 V to VDD."  However, the resolution of the DAC will remain the same, even though the output voltage is clipped.
