switch from AD5663BR to AD5663R or AD5663A

Category: Hardware
Product Number: AD5663BRMZ

Hello,

I'm using a AD5663BRMZ on one board I've built. MSOP-10 package.

Due to chip shortage I'm wondering if I can switch from this IC to other of the AD5663 family.

Note that

  1. I'm using an external voltage reference, so I do not need the internal voltage reference
  2. I do not need the boot on center voltage feature of the AD5663BRMZ

I've take a look at the datasheet at to my eyes seems that i can switch from my series to AD5663ARMZ or even AD5663RBRMZ.

Even the SPI protocol seems the same.
I'm here to ask you confirmation.

Thank you!

  • Hi Ikdgironi,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I understand that you're currently facing a chip shortage and I appreciate your patience as we work to meet the demands of all our customers.

Regarding your inquiry about switching from AD5663BRMZ to AD5663ARMZ, I can confirm that this is possible. However, it's important to note that AD5663BRMZ offers a higher level of accuracy with a ±12 LSB INL, compared to the ±16 LSB INL offered by AD5663ARMZ.

For further information and options, I would recommend reviewing the datasheet's ordering guide.

  • Thank you! This almost solved my question.
And what about the AD5663R family?

  • Hi Ikdgironi,

Regarding the AD5663R family, it's important to note that these devices have an internal voltage reference (1.25V or 2.5V), which you stated you do not require. However, the AD5663R is available in the MSOP-10 package and offers similar electrical specifications as the AD5663BRMZ and AD5663ARMZ as well, would still want to explore this option?
