Using DC2156A board with DC590B/QuikEval - getting "Cannot load COM module for device". Where can I find the correct file, and what is it called? We are using Windows 7, 64B.  Thanks!

PS: I did find "ins2946.msi" via guesswork, and installed it as per an msi file, but the problem persists. IF that is the right file (?) for the DC2156A demo board under DC590B, how do we use/install it?

Added mention of ins2946.msi, which might or might not be the file. Also- IF it is the right file, how is it installed to QuikEval?

  • Hi Ian, it's been almost two weeks since your reply and the issue is unresolved. We'd really like to use the LTC2946 in our design; we have purchased the DC2156A board and it's recommended DC590B QuikEval board, but--- there is no software! The DC590B, as marketed by ADI, is _supposed_ to include a windows GUI for inspecting and setting the various LTC2946 registers and results, etc. It is described on Page 12 of the user manual (https://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/user-guides/DC2156AF.PDF). The DC2156A has an eeprom on it that tells the DC590B where to find the software, but it does not work - its probably an outdated link to some directory on the old LTC site. Can you PLEASE tell us where to find the correct ".msi" or other file needed? We can't use the tool without the software. Thanks!
