AD5316 sub for AD5326: Need to change data write for LSBs?

Question

We use the AD5326. It's hard to get just now. I'm considering substituting the 10-bit version, AD5316. Being lazy, I wonder if I can just drop it in & not change code (easier version control in manufacturing...). The LSBs are to be written as ZERO for the 5316. Will it break if we write non-zero LSB data? Thanks!

Hi Paul, 
 Replacing the AD5326 with the AD5316 should be fine. Ideally, in this case, the LSBs for the lower res. devices should be ignored. There should be no risk of breaking the part in that case.
