Question about AD5422AREZ

Hello,

Im currently building a PCB with the AD5420AREZ and starting to evaluate it, but Im concerned that the delivery time for the AD5420 is getting longer.

So Im also considering the AD5422AREZ, which is a similar product, and I'm thinking of mounting it on the same PCB.

Im not use the voltage output of the AD5422. I have some questions about the replacement.

5pin: CLEAR SELECT

The 5pin of the AD5420 PCB is connected to GND, so CLEAR SELECT is connected to GND when mounted. The voltage output is not used, any problem?

17pin: Ccomp

Since the 17pin of the PCB is OPEN, Ccomp will be OPEN. Is there any problem?

21pin: VOUT, 22pin: +Vsense

The 21pin and the 22pin of the PCB are connected to AVdd through a capacitor.

Is it safe to connect +Vout and +Vsense to AVdd through the capacitor as well? Is it better to remove the capacitor? (Vout and +Vsense are OPEN)

23pin: -Vsense

The 23pin of the PCB is OPEN so Vsense will also be OPEN. Is there a problem?

Are there any other points I should be aware of when replacing the AD5422?

Regards,

Kazu

    HI Kazu,

    5pin: CLEAR SELECT

The 5pin of the AD5420 PCB is connected to GND, so CLEAR SELECT is connected to GND when mounted. The voltage output is not used, any problem?

    No problem with this.

    17pin: Ccomp

Since the 17pin of the PCB is OPEN, Ccomp will be OPEN. Is there any problem?

No problem with this. comp is for vout only.

The 21pin and the 22pin of the PCB are connected to AVdd through a capacitor.

Is it safe to connect +Vout and +Vsense to AVdd through the capacitor as well? Is it better to remove the capacitor? (Vout and +Vsense are OPEN)

Better to open the capacitor to avoid noise and stray current leakage.

    23pin: -Vsense

The 23pin of the PCB is OPEN so Vsense will also be OPEN. Is there a problem?

If vout will not be used entirely, it is OK.

I think you've pretty much covered it. I understand we have some supply issues at the moment. Don't hesitate to contact us or your local FAEs for supply and technical concerns.

    Best regards,
