Difference DAC AD7228 to AD7228A

Hi,

a customer of mine uses the DAC AD7228 (more precisely an AD7228LP) in his device. Can someone tell me please the difference between an AD7228 to AD7228A.

In the data sheets the specifications look the same, except that for the AD7228A additionally the specs for the +5 V Supply Operation are given.

In the customer device the AD7228 is powered with VDD = 8.5 V, VSS = 0 V, GND = 0 V and  Vref = 5 V. Do both AD7228 and AD7228A have a POR to reset the latches at power-up?

Regards

Christine

  • Hi Ian,

    thank you for your response.
The AD7228A is the part which offers the extended operating temperature of -55 to 125°C.

The device of my customer should not be upgraded to a newer part.
So I have to stay with the AD7228(A). POR seems not to be a problem.

    Best regards,
    Christine
