Hello,
I'm using the exact same digipot (AD5206) . When I measure the impedance across A and B for any channel on the digipot, I get a very high reading of a few Mega ohms, even though my digipot is 10kohm. The datasheet shows that there is no SHDN pin.
Any help would be great.
Is the device powered?
yes, the device is powered VDD 5v, VSS 0v.
How are you measuring the impedance while the device is powered. What are the connections on the A/W/B terminals.
Yes i am trying to measures the impedance when the powered is on.
I have simply connect the A terminal to +5v , B to Ground and from B and W i am trying to get the impedance value.
When measuring the impedance directly, the terminals must not be connected to any external signals..
Secondly without the device being powered, have you tested for ESD continuity of any A/W/B terminals to VSS/VDD.
as per datasheet For example, connecting A terminal to +5 V and B terminal to
ground produces an output voltage at the wiper which can be
any value starting at zero volts up to 1 LSB less than +5 V.
same thing i have done as per datasheet.

Are you trying to measure the voltage or the impedance?
As mentioned above, when measuring the impedance directly, the terminals must not be connected to any external signals.
What do you get when you measure the ESD continuity of the A/W/B terminals. Also share the circuit details of your application.
