AD5060 as replacement for AD5040

Question

Can the AD5060 be used as a drop-in replacement for the AD5040 -- e.g. not just pin compatible but would work in an existing application with its existing SPI sequences.

Hi Bob, 
 Although AD5060 and AD5040 are pin-compatible and uses the same SPI mode, it can't be directly interfaced using the same SPI sequence. AD5040 uses 16 clock cycles for data transmission (Figure 42) while AD5060 uses 24 clock cycles (Figure 41).
