I am trying to compare the AD5544 current mode DAC to the AD5686 voltage mode DAC and I was needing some help understanding the settling time for the AD5544. For the AD5544 the output voltage settling time is 0.9us to plus/minus 0.1% of full scale, with the data going from 0x0000 to 0xFFFF to 0x0000. For the AD5686 the output voltage settling time is 5us to plus/minus 2LSB, going from 1/4 to 3/4 full scale. After initial comparisons it appears that the lower settling time for the AD5544 could be as a result of a wider error band. I would greatly offer any other opinions on this matter.
