I am using AD5726. On the datasheet there is reference input current (pag.3), for VREFN there is written -1mA (max).My question is: should I consider 1mA going inside the chip or 1mA coming from the chip ? What does minus means ?Thanks.Lucio
of course You mean AVSS = -6V and not AVSS = 6V, correct ?
I want to use shunt voltage reference. Cathode is connected to GND, anode to VREFN and then a resistor from VREFN to VSS.

Theoretically, yes. It would depend on your voltage shunt reference. You may want to take a look at ADR5045's Negative Precision Reference Configuration. More details can be found in the data sheet.
