AD5682R Power -On Reset

Hello All,

I have some questions for AD5682R Power-On Reset.

Looks like datasheet does not state the details…

Q1) What is the threshold voltage value for POR?

And which pin’s voltage level does monitor for? VDD and or VLOGIC?

(Please see the attached picture for your reference)

Q2) What’s the POR behavior at the time when the voltage is falling down such as the temporary blackout?

Best Regards,

  • Hi Takashi-san,

I don't know the exact value but it usually starts at 0.6V or 0.7V. The POR circuit is designed to control the output voltage during power-up from cold boot. The VDD will be monitored until it reaches about 0.6V after which it would start the POR circuit. The POR circuit should still work provided that the power supply don't ramp too fast, else the POR circuitry would not be able to keep up and the supply will power other parts of the part which would result to unknown logic states and the output voltage would have indefinite values.

I hope this would answer your question.

    Regards,

    Mark

  • Hi Mark-san,

Thank you very much for your quick response.

I made the timing chart for POR, Can I ask ask three questions below for understanding?

    Sorry for many questions.

    Best Regards,

    Takashi

  • Hi Takashi-san,

Apologies for the delay. The POR Trip Level is less than VDD min though I am not sure of the exact value. I will get back to you on this. If the supply returns to the operating range without reaching the POR value, the part should still be okay.

I am looking for more details so I will get back to you as soon as possible.

    Regards,

    Mark
