AD5432 Reset

Sometimes an AD5432 on our board enters a bad state, means that even if the SPI message is correct (measured with the scope) the output is not. The only solution so far is a power cycle.

According to the data sheet there are several op-codes as reserved, maybe one of them acts as a reset? Or does anyone know another way to reset the device after power-up?

  • Hi,

Thanks for providing a sample sequence as it provides a clearer picture of the problem.

What do you mean by this sentence?

This belong to any value sent to the DAC.

For sequence #3, #4, #6, what is the result if 0x129C is written instead of 0x1808?

It would be great if this can be replicated on bench with the digital lines and OP162_OUT captured  simultaneously using the sequence you provided.

    Cheers,

    Ivan
