AD5683R SDO Pin location

Hi,

I am trying to interface with the AD5683R using SPI.

SCLK, SYNC and SDI are visible on the board, but I am unsure as to which pin hole represents SDO.

I am inexperienced in interfacing between modules so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Aidan

    Hi Aidan,

First of all, the EVAL-AD5683RSDZ comes with AD5683RBRMZ which is a 10-Lead MSOP Vlogic option, which does not have the SDO pin. You must install AD5683RBRMZ-3 or AD5683RBRMZ-3-RL7 (please refer to the ordering guide of the datasheet on page 28) which is also a 10-Lead MSOP but with SDO pin.

With the AD5683R (with SDO pin) installed, /RESET (pin 2) is should be accessed through V_IO "hole" and SDO (pin 3) accessed through /RESET "hole" of the PMOD. Since the pin 2 now functions as /RESET which is being controlled by another module, you must disonnect the LINK.  You can get more information on page 10 of the datasheet and schematics in the user guide.

    Cheers,

    Ivan
