AD5252 EEMEM & RDAC

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out the situation with the device memory. My application assumes that a digipot is controlled at 100Hz, which means that EEMEM will be corrupted in average in 16 minutes (100,000 cycles according to the data sheet). The data sheet mentions for RDAC write: "Store RDAC1 setting to EEMEM1". Does it mean that when EEMEM gets corrupted, the device is no longer operational and I won't be able to set the register?

I don't really need a non-volatile memory and would have chosen a volatile digipot, but AD5252 is the only digipot that suits all my criteria.

    Yes, if EEMEM gets corrupted, the device is no longer operational and you won't be able to set the register. It is because the RDAC register corresponds to a specific EEMEM location which is mentioned in the second paragraph of RDAC/EEMEM section in page 16 which i shown below:
