AD5421 low loop current support

Hi Gabe,

The  AD5421 can not be set to less than 3.2mA for all the output loop current ranges.

You may want to consider using the AD5422 as this have a 0-20mA or 0-24mA current ranges. Although this is not a loop powered DAC, it still have the HART communication capability.

I have one more question about internal LDO for HART application .

Can I use the AD5422's DVCC output power for HART IC power supply(under 5mA) ?

AD5422 meet the DVCC output load current of 5mA given in the datasheet.

Hi Gabe,

Yes, you could the DVCC as a supply for a load under 5mA. Just ensure that you leave the DVCC SELECT pin floating to enable the internal LDO.
