ADAS3023 - power supply sequencing

Q: What is the correct power supply sequence for the ADAS3023 to operate properly?

 

A: The ADAS3023 requires these five supplies: AVDD = +5V, DVDD = + 5V, VDDH = + 15V, VSSH = - 15V, and VIO = 1.8V to 5V. The user must bring up the ADAS3023 power supplies in the following sequence in order to operate it normally:

1. VIO

2. VDDH

3. VSSH

4. DVDD

5. AVDD

6. REFx

In order to operate the ADAS3023 from a + 5V single supply, the user would need to generate the required +/-15V high voltage supplies using one of our switching converters such as the ADP1613/14 in SEPIC-Cuk topology. Refer to CN-201 for complete information on this test setup.

  • It is a question about power supply sequence.
    The data sheet has an order, and the time condition is not written.
    Is the following sequence safe?

    The whole is a single power supply system. It is designed to be powered all at once.
    ± 15 V => (VDDH, VSSH) => 5 V LDO => AVDD => 20 Ω => DVDD => VIO

  • My customer understands the need for sequencing the supplies. Due to board constraints, they do not have board space for to add a power sequencer.  They wanted to know if it is possible (or if anyone has done it) to put an R before decoupling capacitor to form different time constant to reach the sequence?
