Turning the LVDS output stage out of the high-impedance state is slower than doing the same for the CMOS driver. This is because the LVDS bus needs some internal circuit bias points to generate the 1.25V common mode and 350mV differential mode, which takes a bit of time to establish and stabilize when the bus is activated. In contrast, activating CMOS only requires turning on a switch.
