Question
Do you know the difference between AD7829-1 and AD7829? I can not find the
exact difference.
Answer
AD7829-1 is an AD7829 redesign. Recommend AD7829-1 for new designs.
The main differences between the old version and the new version:
If the oscillator on the AD7829 is stalled (i.e. lock-up has occurred) and the
user initiates a conversion (falling edge on /CONVST) the part will know that a
lock-up has occurred. A further conversion will reset the oscillator. The
third conversion will produce a valid result. The attached timing plot shows
the sequence.
