Question:
When using the software sequencer, the first conversion result is not the expected value?
Answer:
After configuring the sequencer in software mode, a “dummy” conversion is first required in order to latch the configuration into the ADC. After one dummy conversion has been performed, the ADC is fully configured for use with the sequencer and no further dummy conversions are required. The same applies for use of the burst sequencer. Refer to Figure 56 and 57 (AD7616-P) or Figure 63 and 64 (AD7616) of the datasheet. A dummy conversion is also required after a partial reset of the AD7616 and AD7616-P.
