Question
Could you please confirm the AD7192 can be set the gain of 2 and 4.I found below registers are reserved at gain of 2 and 4.But in the bipolar/unipolar configuration portion, it mentions the gain of 2 can be set.
Answer
The AD7192 can be set with a gain of 2 and 4.With a Vref of 2.5V, the part does seem to function correctly, but ADI does not guarantee that AD7192 will meet spec at a gain of 2 and 4. So thesegains are not listed in the datasheet.
The text that refers to a gain of 2 is an error. Gain of 2 or 4 in not specified by ADI.
Gain of 8 should be used for example:For example, if AINCOM is 2.5 V and the AD7190 AIN1 analog input is configured for unipolar mode with a gain of 8, the input voltage range on theAIN1 pin is 2.5 V to 2.8125 V when a 2.5 V reference is used. If AINCOM is 2.5 V and the AD7190 AIN1 analog input is configured for bipolar mode witha gain of 8, the analog input range on AIN1 is 2.1875 V to 2.8125 V.
