The AD7380 has an on chip oversampling, Why is there a need for an oversampling?
Oversampling has been a known method of processing conversion result to improve ADC performance for SAR ADC. Putting the oversampling process internally to the AD7380 will have a faster processing time of an oversampled conversion result as compared to performing in the microcontroller which will add processing time and memory, and at the same time it further improves the AD7380 performance.
