Hi,
I am considering designing in MAX31856, a few questions in that regard:
1) I am surprised (curious to learn why?) - in lower-res MAX31855PMB1
there's proper compensated K-type connector, but uncompensated one/
a terminal-block(? can't find schematic or BOM for) on MAX31856PMB1.
Wouldn't this connector choice cost/ degrade measurement accuracy?
2) For best possible MAX31856 measurement accuracy, performance -
I am considering two changes to MAX31856PMB1 when importing it for
adapting it for my wireless TC transmitter design. As follows:
a) for placing MAX31856 as close to type-K connector (the one used in
MAX31855PMB1) right beneath/ on opposite face of the PCB - Do you
see any concern in doing so (on 4-layer board, two inner planes GND)?
b) another puzzle that I'm trying to figure out - regarding CJC accuracy
±0.7°C on MAX31856, which seems rather low for ±0.15°C for the TC/
hot junction accuracy. If you can throw some light on why/ this choice?
I'm considering using external CJC sensor/ chip alongside MAX31856.
Placement of this extra part - can it be placed same way, close vicinity
of, same side of pcb as MAX31856, right opposite from the connector?
Please advise. Also, can you point me to MAX31856PMB1 design files
(gerbers, schematic, BOM) please. Thank you:)
