Can't be found from AD411x Eval+ software

Category: Software
Product Number: EVAL-AD4114/15SDZ, AD4114
Software Version: Rev.1.3.10.15-Beta

I am using EVAL-AD4114/15SDZ with MCU board of SDP-K1 for testing. I have followed the instructions to program the file "SDP_K1_1.8.0.1.hex" into the MCU board SDP-K1.

But I always only see the message "No Supported Evaluation Board Found"

Please suggest how to fix it? Thanks

  • Hi  ,

The Eval+ Software works well using an SDP-B. We have a new evaluation software, the ACE software, that you may use which is applicable for SDP-B and SDP-K1. Make sure that the links are correct as mentioned in the evaluation board user guide.

You may download the ACE software in this link. Analysis | Control | Evaluation (ACE) Software | Analog Devices

    To install the ACE software,

    • With the SDP board disconnected from the USB port of the PC, download the ACE evaluation software package to start the ACE evaluation software installation
    • Click on Download ACE Installer
    • Run the installer and follow the instructions to complete the software installation process

During the installation process, be sure to select Precision Converter Components when prompted and enable the LibIIO Wrapper to ensure that all necessary software components are installed.

When the following prompt appears, be sure to select LibIIO and LibIIODrivers options, then click Install.

When the ACE evaluation software installation is complete, take the following steps to set up the SDP-K1 and evaluation board together.

    • Connect the SDP-K1 and evaluation board using the Arduino headers.
    • Connect the power supplies configuration.
    • Connect the USB cable to the SDP-K1.
    • Open the ACE software.

Install the plugin thru the Plug-in Manager. Search the AD411x plugin in the Available Packages using the search bar.

Once installed, the software recognizes the AD411x evaluation board. When the software recognizes the board, double-click on the icon in the Start view to open the main window. Make sure that you already have the AD411x plugin in the plugin manager.

The ACE plugin includes a comprehensive user guide that will help the user navigate through the different features of the software.

  • Hi JC,

I installed the ACE software as you suggested, but when I tried to use it I got the following message. After I changed it from SDP-K1 to SDP-B, I was able to use the same board.

  • Hi  ,

Did you use an actual SDP-B or just connected the SDP-K1 thru the 120-pins? The ACE software should be able to work with the SDP-K1. Did you change LK7, LK8 to ARD, J6 to ARD and connected it thru the Arduino headers?

In the Tools tab, you can click on "Events". A window shall appear indicating all the errors and warning that will help in debugging for errors.

    Regards,

    JC

  • Hi JC,

Yes. I use an actual SDP-B and connected the SDP-K1 thru the 120-pins. and make sure all settiings to SDP connector.

    But ony SDP-B is work.

I already lend the board of EVAL-AD4114 and SDP-B to customer for test. I need few days to wait for the board return then continue the Events check.

  • Hi  ,

I was able to make the EVAL-AD4114 work for SDP-K1.

SDP-K1 connected through the Arduino Headers.

    Link Settings:
    LK7 and LK8: ARD
    J6: ARD

    SDP-K1 connected through 120-pin

    Link Settings:
    LK7 and LK8: SDP
    J6: ARD

    Regards,

    JC

  • Hi JC,

Thanks for make sure the board is work.

May I know have you programmed the file "SDP_K1_1.8.0.1.hex" into the MCU board SDP-K1?

  • Hi

No, I did not programmed the SDP-K1 with the hex file. When a hex file is pre-programmed to the SDP-K1, the ACE should detect this and prompt the user to reprogram it to what is usable by ACE. If you had programmed the SDP-K1 with the hex file, then the board would not work in ACE.

    Regards,

    JC
