Hi,
Currently we are working in Precision Weigh Scale Design Using the AD7791 24-Bit Sigma-Delta ADC with External ADA4528-1 Zero-Drift Amplifiers.
Presently our Load cell operates with 10V Can we sourced it for the (REFIN+ & REFIN-) pins?

Hi,
We will contact the product owner and get back to you.
Thanks,

Hi Guru12 ,
Can you please clarify what you mean by "operates with 10V Can we sourced it for the (REFIN+ & REFIN-) pins"? Do you plan on applying 10V input on the REFIN+/- pins of the AD7791?
If so, it is not recommended to apply a 10V input on REFIN+/- pins of AD71791 as it violates the specifications stated on the datasheet for the REFERENCE INPUT.
Also noting that VDD is only limited to -0.3 to +7V based on the datasheet.
And to ensure proper operation of the device, it is recommended to consider and not violate the specifications used by the datasheet.
Thanks and regards,
Rod
HI Rod,
Thanks for your reply. Yup we noticed min max voltage for ref pins in datasheet.
We have a load cell with operating voltage of 10V min (4-wire). So datasheet suggest to connect REF pins on load cell power and ground pin.
What would you suggest on this?
Hi,
Since the load cell on your setup is operating at a 10V min voltage, connecting the REF+- pins to on the load cell power and ground pin will violate the ADC specifications as stated on the datasheet. There would be no guarantee on the ADC performance because the reference input specification (and ABS MAX rating) on the datasheet is violated.
Thanks and regards,
Rod
Hi,
Noted. will you suggest some other IC that support for 10V load cell.
Hi Guru12 ,
Apologies for missing this.
Unfortunately, we have no ADC that can support a 10V loadcell directly. However, you can add a voltage divider front-end circuit to the AD7791 to accommodate the ADC specifications when using the 10V loadcell for your application.
Thanks and regards,
Rod
