Is temperature compensation required for accurate Sp02 measurement with MAXM86161?

Product Number: MAXM86161

I am evaluating the MAXM86161, and I don’t see any mention of temperature compensation for this sensor.

It does offer a temperature measurement and has registers to read out the temperature.

Please tell me, is there a purpose for this temp value? Does it impact the accuracy of the Red or IR sense values?
