Hi,
With the AD7412 (CDC converter), how long should we wait after setting the SW_RESET bit before starting to program the registers?
Thanks,
Fergus

Hi Maurice ,
One more question. We're still getting occasional readings which are inconsistent, and sometimes seem to be "shifted" from another channel. To help debug this, could you describe what you know of what exactly the following two bits actually do, when set: SW_RESET, and CONV_RESET?
You already told me that CONV_RESET is only effective when the CDC is out of shutdown mode. Does the same apply to SW_RESET? Any other information around these two bits would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Fergus
Hi Fergus ,
CONV_RESET will reset the conversion sequencer to stage0, it can happen when the device is put into shutdown mode that the conversion sequencer stops at the stage it is currently converting and when powered-up again resumes at this stage. To ensure that when the device is powered-up the conversion sequencer starts at Stage0, the CONV_RESET bit should be set after programming the PWR_CONTROL register.
SW_RESET resets all configuration registers to default values, effectively the same as performing a power cycle.
Regards,
Maurice.
