Pull up resistor on Dout/rdy pin

Question

There is a pull up resistor connected to the DOUT/RDY pin in AD4115 evaluation board. What is the purpose of this pull up resistor? Also is pull resistor needed for error pin while interfacing with microcontroller?

Hi Abbijeet , 
 When /CS pin is high, the DOUT/RDY pin is in a tri-state mode. Having the pull-up resistor will set the digital input pin of the isolator to a known voltage instead of just floating. For the ERROR pin, if they are being used as inputs then the pin should be driven to either AVDD1 or AVSS. On the other hand, when used as an output, it does not need a pull up/down as the ADC will drive it high or low as appropriate.
