The datasheet includes an equation for SNR loss due to the external signal conditioning circuitry on the input to the SAR ADC. This is equation (1) on sheet 26 of the datasheet. This equation would be used to select the input circuitry with appropriately low noise.
Is this equation still valid even when the ADC is in oversampling mode and has the block averaging filter enabled? I'd have assumed that as the dynamic range increases (when in increase the oversampling and averaging), that the noise on the external signal conditioning circuitry would need to be lower than when the oversampling isn't being used. The equation doesn't seem to take this into account.
