I'm looking to daisychain the LTC1609 and was wondering if there is a limit to the number of devices that can be in this chain? Thanks in advance

The LTC1609 is a 200ksps, serial sampling 16-bit A/D converter that draws only 65mW (typical) from a single 5V supply. This easy-to-use device includes...

Hi, Jwith .
I think there is no limit to it. But do you have a number on your mind on how many LTC1609 will be daisy chained?
Warm regards,
Jo
Hi Jo,
I would be thinking of 10 in the chain.
thanks
Hi, Jwith .
There is no limit on the number of LTC1609 to be daisy chained. But here is the catch, every time you add another LTC1609, the throughput rate decreases since subnodes are configured such that the chip selects signal for all subnodes is tied together and data propagates from one subnode to the next. So, you need to consider your application if you are fine with a throughput rate of less than 200 ksps, which will be slow every decrease to its throughput rate. If yes, then ten (10) LTC1609 can be used. But if your applications strictly need to optimize the 200 ksps throughput rate, then two (2) LTC1609 will be the limit. You can refer to pages 17-20, use of the tag input section.
Thank you and regards,
Jo
