external CMOS clock of AD7134

Category: Hardware

In my circuit, the clkvdd is connected to the 1.8V power supply. The circuit diagram is as follows:

Measure the voltage of XTAL2 with an oscilloscope as follows:

The maximum voltage of the input sine wave is 2.34V and the minimum voltage is -0.4V. Does the external input clock meet the requirements under this circuit?

  • Hi  ,

    The minimum voltage high is 0.65 x CLKVDD = 0.65 x 1.8V = 1.17 V, while the maximum voltage low is 0.35 x CLKVDD = 0.35 x 1.8V = 0.63 V.

The voltage of the input sine wave should be okay but kindly check the frequency as it seems like the frequency is at 48.31MHz, while the maximum frequency specified in the datasheet is 48.1MHz.

    Thanks,

    Janine

  • Hi JEstayo ,

If the frequency of crystal vibration is not in this range, what will happen to AD7134?

I have bought several 48Mhz active crystal oscillators, but none of them meet the requirements. Do you have any recommended crystal oscillators? If you think it can drive AD7134, or  you think it is a reliable crystal oscillator,Please tell me the model number.Thank!I look forward to your replys!
