Another qustion: on page 54 last row: 'a reset can be performed with 0xAC',.
This is also stated on page 58, row 9. Bit 7 is set so this cannot be an adress command.

Continuous mode conversion can be used for FIR Filter.
The statement should be “One Shot conversion mode is not available as an option for use with the low ripple FIR Filter.” One shot conversion mode is only available for use with sinc5 or sinc3 filters. We are working on the correction of the datasheet.
To answer your second question, yes. A reset can be performed by writing 0xAD on the SDI when in continuous read mode and in the same way as the exit command. It is not a data for SYNC_RESET but a reset code/command.
