ECG 12D ADAS : could i use 2 ADAS1000 (1 master 1 slave) instead of an ADAS1000-2

Hi everyone,

Because of the current component shortage, we are wondering if we can replace our ADAS1000-2 by a second ADAS1000 in order to get ECG 12D ? We tried to replace it by an ADAS1000 on an existing board but i can't get a frame from the slave (OPSTAT 0x04 busy state).

I thought i could just use the same configuration as we were doing with the ADAS1000-2 but obviously it doesn't work. Now i'm wondering if it's a software configuration issue, if we broke the component while soldering it or if it's an hardware problem (as we just soldered the component where the 1000-2 was).

Here is a part of the schematic, where we just replaced the ADAS1000-2 by a second  ADAS1000 :

Here is the second ADAS config(slave) :

-CMREFCTL : EXTCM

-LOFF : LOFF_10NA | LOFF_EN

-FRMCTL : DATAFMT | GPIODIS | RESPHDIS | RESPMDIS | PACEDIS | V2DIS

-FILTCTL : 150HZ

-ECGCTL : PWREN | HP | CLKEXT | VREFBUF | GAIN_2 | LAEN | LLEN | RAEN | V1EN

So does anyone know if we can replace it this way without a hardware change ? configuration change ? or if it's just not possible to use 2 ADAS1000 to be in gang mode ?

Thanks in advance for your answer,

Best Regards,

Thomas

  • Hi Thomas,

The ADAS1000 is in slave configuration by default so my expectation is that it will work as a direct replacement for ADAS1000-2 without any change in configuration but I will try to confirm this in the lab and will get back to you by Tuesday.

For now, can you check if your configuration run in the same sequence as the example 6 in the datasheet?

    regards,

    Mark

  • Hi Mark,

Firstly, thank you for your answer.

I just tried the configuration above in the same order and the same values. It doesn't seems to change the fact that the slave doesn't send frames.

I will investigate on my side and wait for your tuesday answer.

    have a nice weekend,

    Best Regards,

    Thomas
