EVAL-AD74413R Query

Hi

We are testing EVAL-AD74413R Evaluation board. We have the following 3 queries

1. We set a current input of 36mA and the GUI is not showing short circuit current detection. Please clarify us how to detect the short circuit current detection using the GUI

2. We are not getting the channel use case advanced settings as mentioned in the Fig 5 of User guide. Please clarify how to set that advanced settings

3. Please clarify the importance of the diodes CR1, CR2, CR3 and CR4 in the channels. If we make the cathode pin of these diode open, will it affect the current sensing of the channels

Please clarify these queries ASAP

Thanks and Regards

Abishek V

    Hi Abishek,

    Apologies for the delayed response.

    1. In the Configure Tab, select sensors & Current Input Externally Powered and hit apply. In the register Tab, enable the comparator in register 0x09 (Digital Input Config). Set the treshold to AVDD/2 by setting "Comparator Treshold" to decimal 14 in the Digital Input Treshold register (0x22). You should now see the short circuit bit being set in the alert register when in a short circuit conditions

    2. There are no advanced settings associated with current input externally powered function, which is why you do not see them.

    3. The diodes are used to protect the output stage and are necessary for the correct functionality of Iout/Vout use cases.
