AD2S1210_FAULT

Hi experts,

Currently, I am using the EVAL AD2S1210 with SPI communication. But, I have some problem.

+ The LOT and DOS Led always run even resolver connected. I read the fault register, Its value is 0x7F.

+ I used the 12 bits data mode. But the value of angular position always is 11 bits. The MSB is 0.

Could you tell me how I can fix these problems?

I appreciate any your helps.

  • Hi,

We will look into this, I'll contact the product owner and get back to you.

  • CauT2,

First of all apologies for the delay in my response as I was out of the office on vacation.   As you have stated that LOT and DOS are always lit and that you are reading back all 1's from the device I'm suspicious that you have either 1) Miswired the device 2) you've misconfigured the device, or 3) the device is not correctly biased or has somehow been damaged.

To start debug can you please confirm the following.

    1) You have modified the board to change LK9 to put SOEN = DGND (Position B)

    2) Please also verify that you've tied RDB to VDRIVE by connecting LK3 to Position B.

    3) Please verify the RESET pin is at VDRIVE, note that VDRIVE must be >3.08V (typ), 3.15V(max) for the onboard ADM811 device to release the reset.

    4) Please confirm you have connected the following pins to your controller using either J2 or J4.

Device Pin Function Linker Position Micro Pin
    A0 Configuration Selection LK4 C GPIO
    A1 Configuration Selection LK5 C GPIO
CS Chip Select LK2 B or C If tied to C use GPIO.  This is a global chip enable.
SAMPLE Sample Access Pin LK1 C GPIO (TIMER Capable)
WR/FSYNC Interface Frame Sync NA NA J4-4 Connected to SS or GPIO
DB13/SCLK Serial Interface Clock NA NA J4-10 Connected to SCLK
DB14/SDI Serial Data Input NA NA J4-9 Connected to controller MOSI or equivalent
DB15/SDO Serial Data Output NA NA J4-8 Connected to controller MISO or equivalent

If you've verified all these connections and found them to be satisfactory please let me know and we can continue debug from there.
