Questions about AD1674 converter start timing

Yes, it is possible to wire the CE directly to VCC to keep it at a high state all the time. But we advise including the CS pin to be connected to GND to prevent some errors in the timing. We also suggest placing a 0 ohm resistor at the interface line between the CE to VCC and CS to GND to have an option for other configurations.

Is there any problem with using the AD1674 even when the CE is set to low?

In my opinion, if the CE is fixed, high is more correct than low.

Unfortunately, the customer's board is already connected with CS to VCC and the hardware is fixed.

At this time, Tssc (CS to CE Setup) and Tssr (CS to CE Setup) are not provided, but tHSC (CS Low During CE High) is maintained at about 60ns.

Please advise if there are any problems with use even in this situation.

Hi, 

There is no problem when you use the AD1674 CE pin to low state. It will only disable the ADC and stops the Read/Convert operation.
