LTC1859 DC performance result

Question

Hi ADI Expert, 
 I need your help to clear of LTC1859 some questions from datasheet. 
 According to the datasheet page13, Figure 5. Histogram for 4096 conversions. The DC PERFORMANCE result is tested by internal Vref 2.5V or external Vref? 
 I saw AVDD and DVDD should be supplied different analog and digital ground loop. Should I need design 5V LDO to supply AVDD and DVDD or switch regulator is acceptable ?

Hi RayW, 
 You should be able to get the ADC performance shown using the internal reference or a good quality external reference. 
 Using a switching regulator like the Silent switcher family good performance can be achieved. If a switching regulator is used the ripple and emi must be very low.)
