What is the thermal shutdown feature of the AD7294?

    The AD7294 offers a thermal shutdown feature on the DAC outputs. This uses the internal temperature sensor to measure the die temperature and if this reading exceeds 150degC the DAC outputs become high impedance until the temperature returns below 85degC. This mode could become active if for example there is a lot of power being dissipated in the part and the internal die begins to heat up. This might occur if two of the DAC outputs were shorted or something to this effect. To enable this function write a '1' to bit D6 of the Alert Status Register C (0x07)
